The Mayweather vs Ortiz fight, dubbed as Star Power will be televised via HBO pay-per-view and many are expecting a large output in terms of PPV and gate receipts from this fight because Floyd Mayweather Jr has not fought since winning a lopsided fight against Shane Mosley in May 2010.
Ortiz has everything to gain and nothing to lose in this fight. Mayweather is the heavy favorite and he is expected to win this fight. At the age of 34, he is still undefeated and no one can defeat him at this time of his career. He is still at his prime and both his speed and power are still at the maximum level.
Victor Ortiz will surely get a hefty amount after the fight. His paycheck will be more than enough to make him happy even though he will lose against the undefeated Mayweather in September. Ortiz is eyeing Pacquiao after Mayweather. If he luckily wins against Floyd, he will fight him again in a rematch, but if he loses, both of the fighters will move forward and seek another opponent.
Manny Pacquiao, a congressman in the Philippines particularly in the province of Sarangani is scheduled to fight Juan Manuel Marquez this November 12, also at the MGM Grand Arena. If he wins against Marquez, he wants to fight Mayweather next.
"Vicious" Victor Ortiz won't have any chance at winning against Floyd Mayweather who has fought prime boxers including Oscar dela Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Zab Judah among many others. Aside from getting a large amount, he will also get the experience and a video tape to study for his next fight. He is a young, talented fighter who has the will and power to change the game... But against Floyd? His skills may not be enough at this time.
